I’m an artist and game developer based in Ottawa, Ontario. I’m originally from Pakenham, Ontario, and will always miss my home in the woods. I started off as an artist and discovered my love for game development and technology at Carleton University and Algonquin College where I studied Interactive Multimedia and Design.
Much of my earlier portfolio work was done in my spare time as a hobby. But most of my recent work is from my efforts in my classes. Interactive Multimedia and design is a program that is meant to provide us with a wide array of skills to prepare us to take on a wide variety of jobs within the information technology industry. It has allowed me to test out different specialties and discover what I truly love. Virtual Reality game development, virtual environment design, and 3D modeling is what I'm passionate about. This brought me to my work with mixed reality for use in education. I have been making experiential learning simulations on the web-based CirclesXR platform.
Some of my core influences come from what I know about myself as an individual and seeing those traits in others. I have been drawn to art because it is a way to document and communicate things which cannot always be understood any other way. Expressing someone's point of view or emotions in a visual, tactile or experiential manner allowing them to be better understood.
I take this same approach with my game development. I always try to encourage communication and collaboration or leave some sort of deeper message with the player.
The reason I have made such great efforts in VR development is with this exact goal in mind. In my experience VR is the most immersive form of gaming. It's the platform with the thinnest barrier between the user and the experience. Allowing the user to experience the world that has been created for them.
Please reach out to me if you have any interest in working with me. I'm open to discussing any type of project!
